Pascucci, New Glorietta (Makati) - straight from Italy with love, or so I would like to think. It's still what a cafe should be, it has ambient and it feels a little private. Unlike most cafes, like Starbucks or even Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf it's not their fault but the volume of people inside is way more than the chairs itself. Which kind of ruins what you're paying for.
At least I'd like to think that the brewed coffee costs that way because you're half paying for the ambience and service.

Impressions: I might be biased, but the combination of reds, blacks and small accents of white really draws me in. Besides that, there's of course the bright wall grafitti. The chairs might be a little small for most people though but I find the long chairs comfortable. Their service is normal, nothing bad to note but nothing too amazing to say. Am a little saddened that they took away the capability for a tea refill. (They served us the tea brewing glass mugs before, but at around the 4th time we visited they served it in to-go cups and glass mugs) |
The Favorite/s: Unfortunately I forgot the name of the pastry, but it's like an upgraded barquillo (wafer roll), it had a thicker outer layer and confectioners sugar sprinkled over it. I enjoy the fact that they serve brewed tea leaves not the overly commercialized versions of tea with all the cream and whatnot. No offense, but we have a LOT of milk tea places already, cafes don't really need to follow suit. Jasmine tea is a favorite, it's one of the more fragrant teas and isn't as bland as white tea or too caffeinated as black tea. Black chocolate stayed true, maybe a little for me as I coupled it with Jasmine-- as I wasn't expecting too many bitter notes. But it was way too dark for my own palette. |
The Verdict: Yep, a total favorite. Pasucci.it is their only site for now (This is a link) , You can easily switch the language into "English" via the "Lingua" tab if you can't open it via that link up there. I have not seen any branches aside from the New Glorietta, Makati Branch. As a certain master french master chef would say, "Bon Apetito" and happy travels |
